Accommodation in Fontainebleau for Rock Climbers

There is a wide range of accommodation available in Fontainebleau for rock climbers. There are several campsites, Gites (self-catering holiday cottages), expensive hotels, budget hotels and self-catering apartments.

La Musardiere

This is a large campsite near Milly-La-Foret, in the heart of the Trois Pignons bouldering area, and hence is very popular with climbers.

Facilities include 2 large toilet/shower/washing blocks which are of a high standard. There is also an open air swimming pool and a children's play area.

The site is open from the middle of February to the end of November. It gets very busy during the main holiday periods so it is best to book.

Haras de la Fontaine

The Haras de la Fontaine Gite complex is located in the in the southern part of the Fontainebleau climbing area, in the village of Poligny near Nemours.  In total there are 4 separate Gites of various sizes, all of which are self-contained.  These are as follows:
Gite 1 – sleeps up to 8 people, with 1 room with 2 single beds, 1 room with 4 single beds, and 1 room with 1 double bed.  2 bathrooms, combined dining-room and kitchen plus a separate living-room with fireplace and TV.
Gite 2 – sleeps up to 7 people, with 1 room with 1 double bed, 1 room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, and 1 room with 2 single beds. 2 bathrooms, and a combined living-room and kitchen.
Gite 3 – sleeps up to 5 people, with 1 room with 1 double bed, and 1 room with 3 single beds. 2 bathrooms, and a combined living-room and kitchen.
Gite 4 – sleeps up to 2 people, with 1 room with 1 double bed. 1 bathroom, and a combined living-room and kitchen.
