The Ridgeway National Trail is 87 miles (139 Km) long and it follows Britain’s oldest road.
The Ridgeway National Trail starts at Avebury in Wiltshire and finishes at Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire, with the trail passing through two distinct landscapes. The first part from Avebury to Goring follows a broad track along the North Wessex Downs in a surprisingly remote environment.
The second part from Goring to Ivinghoe Beacon initial follows the River Thames before heading into the Chilton Hills through several villages and small towns.
There is a single map available covering the whole of the Ridgeway National Trail called The Ridgeway XT40 walking map that is produced by Harvey Maps. Buy maps for the Ridgeway National Trail from our shop.
