Rock climbing on Malta

Malta has a good mixture of sport climbing and traditional climbing routes, often side-by-side on the same crag, as shown above. The decision to bolt is decided upon a route-by-route basis. Undoubtable the best sport climbing area is Wied Babu, which has a good mixture routes across all grades. Malta has many excellent deep water soloing (DWS) venues, particularly Ghar Hasan. However not all of the deep water soloing routes on Malta are recorded, it's a case of go and explore.
