This is a detailed walking guidebook for the iconic Coast to Coast path devised by Alfred Wainwright. Starting at St Bees on the east coast it crosses 3 National Parks before finishing on the west coast at Robin Hood’s Bay. First there are the lakes and rugged mountains of the Lake District; then the gentle dales and stone built villages of the Yorkshire Dales; followed by wild moorland, sea cliffs and fishing villages of the North York Moors.
The Coast to Coast path is shown on 109 maps that have been drawn by walkers for walkers at a scale of just under 1:20,000. These maps show route times, places to stay and eat along with points of interest. In addition there are 10 town plans.
