There has been a fantastic increase of activity in developing the sport climbing crags, and new climbing areas along the A55 expressway corridor in North Wales between Llanddulas and Penmaenmawr. British climbers are being se-duced by the delights of bolt clipping in the warmth of the sunshine in Europe, so sport climbing is becoming increasingly popular in the UK. This is partly be-cause climbers enjoy the convenience of sport climbing, the easy route finding and technically challenging routes that are relatively safe when compared with traditional ones.
All the crags in this guidebook are all easily accessible and it's a fun play area. There is so much good climbing here, much of which is new and it will repay full day visits as well as dipping in and bagging a few routes on the way back from Anglesey or Snowdonia. There are colour photos and topos, to enhance the crags.
This edition has 117 new routes, 18 new boulder problems, and 6 new crags. Crags that are covered are, Ty Newydd, Dyserth Castle Slab, Dyserth Waterfall Meliden Quarry, Gop Cave Bouldering, Llanddulas Cave, Castle Inn Quarry, Penmaen Head, Trench Wall, Notice Board, Penmaenbach Quarry
With 280 routes ranging from F3 to F8b, there is loads for everyone. This guidebook will be very popular.
