With regards to pure rock climbing and bouldering India is a very un-developed country though undoubtedly there are many areas to be found and explored. The exception to this is the granite boulders at Hampi near Bangalore. Hampi has been described as the largest bouldering area in the world, though what is not in doubt is that Hampi is one of the best bouldering areas in the world, alongside Fontainebleau, Rocklands and Bishop.

This guidebook describes all the documented bouldering to be found at Hampi near Bangalore in southern India. The Hampi granite bouldering area is vast with many areas totally un-developed, and as such has been descripted as the largest bouldering area in the world.
