This is a selective guidebook describing over 750 of the very best free rock climbing routes in Yosemite Valley. Yosemite is a forested sea of granite walls, monoliths, and domes that is often described as the climber’s Mecca. Few other climbing areas offer world class big wall routes with such easy access. This Rock Climbing Yosemite Valley guidebook describes many previously un-documented routes as well as the usual classics to produce a modern guidebook that truly reflects the world class climbing in Yosemite.
The guidebook is split into 8 areas and describes 777 routes from 5.4 to 5.14 (F3 to F8c), with everything from single pitch routes to 1,000m+ routes on El Cap. All the routes are shown on both colour photo topos and hand drawn classic topos, along with detailed descent information. These along with detailed approach maps will ensure you spend your time climbing, not finding your way to the crag or looking for your route.
The areas covered in the guidebook are Valley West, Cathedrals, Southside crags (Sentinel), Valley East (Half Dome), Northside crags (Arches), El Cap, Hwy 120 crags, and Hwy 140 crags. Describes are 200 routes graded 5.9 or less; 223 routes at 5.10; 183 routes at 5.11; 111 routes at 5.12; 43 routes at 5.13; and 5 routes at 5.14 and above.
Published in July 2016, the guidebook includes over 100 of the best Yosemite climbing photographs. Also included is a free unique code with every guidebook to download the vertical-life climbing app that brings all the topos and information straight to your mobile device (iOS and Android).
