This trekking in the Mountains of Montenegro guidebook describes 17 day walks and multi-day routes throughout Montenegro. These walking and trekking routes are throughout the Dinaric Alps, including Montenegro's five national parks of Durmitor, Prokletije, Biogradska gora, Lovcen and Lake Skadar. Also included are routes in Orjen, Komovi, Tara Canyon and the UNESCO-listed old town of Kotor.

The Dinaric Alps of Montenegro are some of the wildest, most spectacular and least visited mountains in Europe. However these mountains are easily accessible with many areas have well-marked paths and trails.

The guidebook describes both circular and linear routes that range from short (2km) walks to challenging 5-day treks involving exposure and scrambling. Most of the routes begin at 1,000m and rise up to between 1,600m and 2,500m. Some routes have variants and extensions so that you can design a day walk or longer trips depending upon your ability and timescale.

Published in May 2015 this guidebook is the first comprehensive English-language guide to walking in this beautiful area, and provides an ideal gateway into Montenegrin adventures. The guide also includes generous background information, including mountain huts and shelters, travel to and within the country, history and language, as well as what to expect in the various mountains and National Parks the routes explore.
