Description
This is a comprehensive guidebook covering the sport climbing found on the Maltese Islands of Malta and Gozo. These islands are in the middle of the Mediterranean and are only a short flight from most European cities. Coupled with mild weather that provides 12 months a year climbing, it is easy to see why the Maltese islands are becoming a popular sport climbing destination. The climbing is on excellent limestone rock, with many of the routes either along rugged coastlines, or inland valleys, caves and ridges.
This guidebook covers 23 climbing areas, and describes over 1,100 fully bolted sport routes, across a wide range of grades from F4’s to F8c+. All the routes are shown on colour photo topos, with route lengths and French sport grades. At the start of each area there is a location map, along with detailed access information, QR codes for the parking area, and a table showing the number of routes in each grade. For each crag there are GPS coordinates and symbols indicate the style of climbing to be found, when the crag is in the sun, approach time, and if family friendly.
The guidebook also includes an overview of the Deep Water Soloing (DWS) and bouldering that is available on the islands.
