The Schweiz ExtremSud guidebook describes a selection of rock climbing and sport climbing routes at grades from F6a and above in the Southern Swiss Alps. The guidebook covers the Ticino area around Bellinzona, plus areas in Italy such as around Domodossola, Lake Como and Val Masino.
In total 62 separate crags are detailed ranging from single pitch sport routes to long alpine style multi-pitch routes. For each crag the type of equipment required is detailed. So for single pitch sport routes rope length and the number of quickdraws are detailed. For the multi-pitch routes the type of ropes required and any additional trad gear such as nuts and cams are detailed.
At the start of each area there is a good location map, along with a description. All routes are shown on clear topo diagrams with French grades (each pitch if appropriate).
Published in October 2014 this guidebook is written in German, French and English text throughout.
