This is the definitive guidebook covering the rock climbing and sport climbing in the Ligurain Apennines around Genova, on the coast of Northern Italy. This area is an excellent alternative to the crowded crags of Finale that is just down the coast. Many of the crags covered are easy accessible sea cliffs that provide bolted single pitch sport routes. The guidebook also covers the crags that lie in valleys inland from Genova, plus the southern regions of Piedmont and the western part of Emilia Romagna.
At the beginning of each crag there is a good location map plus a general description of the crag. The total number of routes is given plus a breakdown of these across the grades. Symbols show the approach time, orientation of the sun, the best time of year to climb, height of the crag, plus the minimum length of rope required. In total 30 different crags are covered, detailing over 1,000 sport routes (mainly single pitch) across a wide range of grades and rock types. All the routes are shown on colour topos.
