This guidebook describes 53 different mountain biking routes throughout Sicily. It covers the areas around the cities of Agrigento, Palermo, and Trapani, along with the mountain ranges of Madonie, Nebrodi and Etna.

Sicily is a very mountainous island and is ideal for mountain biking. The routes described in this guidebook include winding trails and old mule paths through rigged countryside and through small, welcoming villages. Additionally the individual routes can be linked to provide longer or multi-day trips, allowing the rider to travel throughout the island, from the inland to the seaside, or from coast to coast!

Each mountain bike route has a map, route description and general information about the route that is typically spread over 4 pages. On the maps different colours are used to differentiate between various surfaces from cycling paths, dirt tracks, and mule tracks to general paths, and asphalt or cement roads. Symbols are used to indicate the best season for the route, maximum altitude reached, total height gained, distance, technical difficulties, physical effort, and expected total time required to complete the route.

Published in October 2017, this guidebook is in English text throughout. Additional information is also given about Sicily’s heritage, its nature, art, culture, history and cuisine. Each guidebook also has a unique code to download GPS information.
