The Moroccan Anti-Atlas North guidebook describes the traditional rock climbing to be found on the north side of the Jebel el Kest massif near the town of Tafraoute. Morocco’s Anti-Atlas mountains are a unique playground for the adventurous climber, where perfect weather, miles of solid superb quartzite rock, stunning scenery and an enchanting culture combine to create one of the world’s most exciting rock climbing destinations. There is everything from single pitch roadside crags to long multi-pitch routes on big walls and 800m high alpine ridges, with the majority of routes having short walk-ins.
This comprehensive guidebook describes 55 crags and details more than 650 routes, from moderate to through to E6. The main areas covered are around Tanalt & Tagzene, Samazar valley, Afantinzar valley, Idaougnidif and Sidi M’Zal. At the start of each area there is a detailed location map and an overall description. All the routes are illustrated on full colour photo-topos with English traditional grades used throughout. Where appropriate detail information regarding descents is also given.
