This is a comprehensive guidebook to the rock climbing found in Vedauwoo in south eastern Wyoming near the towns of Laramie and Cheyenne. As the name suggests the guidebook details are many classic wide crack and offwidth routes – the style of climbing that Vedauwoo is famous for The majority of the routes covered in the guidebook are single pitch traditional routes complete with lower off chains. There are some 2-pitch routes and a small number of sport routes as well.
The granite rock at Vedauwoo sometimes referred to Joshua Tree’s little cousin, and is an excellent place to visit in the summer months when the temperature for rock climbing is ideal. The guidebook is split into 22 different areas, with a detailed location map included for each area along with access information. All the routes are shown on photo topos.
Published in 2003, this guidebook also includes details the colourful history with bizarre anecdotes on the wild characters that established some of Vedauwoo’s most classic lines.
