Rock
Climbing in Croatia has a vast range of rock
climbing areas, of which the majority are situated near
the coast, including the famous Paklenica National Park.
Paklenica
offers everything from single pitch sports routes up to
12-pitch traditional routes on the 350m high face of Anica
kuk.
Other major rock climbing areas include the north coast
near Pula and Rovinj, and to the south around Split and
Omis.
Rock
Climbing in Spain, Costa Blanca
has become the premier winter sun rock climbing destination,
with a wide variety of crags giving over 2,500 routes.
In the southern region of Andalucia there is some fantastic
rock climbing at El Chorro, around Malaga and Granada.
The area around Barcelona offers rock climbing at Sierra
de Prades (in Costa Daurada), Berga and Montserrat.
There
are numerous other rock climbing areas such as; the island
of Mallorca; bouldering at Albarracin; and rock climbing
around Madrid.
Rock
climbing in Italy is extremely varied with
the majority of the main rock climbing areas in the mountains
of northern Italy. The Dolomites offer
big wall climbing, with multi-pitch routes up to 800m
long. The rock climbing around Arco
is also varied from single pitch sports routes to long
bolted and traditional multi-pitch routes.
Other
excellent rock climbing area include Finale Ligure,
which has mainly 1 & 2-pitch routes and the island
of Sicily offers excellent mult-pitch
rock climbing away from the crowds.

Rock
Climbing in Sardinia has become one of Europe's
premier
winter sun rock venue, with its perfect rock climbing
from Autumn through to the Spring. Rock climb on the coast
at Cala Gonone and Cala Luna, or at extensive inland crags
such as Isili and Domusnovas.
There is a variety of rock climbing in Sardinia from bolted
limestone sports routes, lots of traditional multi-pitch
climbing, to bouldering on beautiful granite rock.
Rock
climbing in Greece is dominated by the superb
limestone sports climbing found on the island of Kalymnos.
However, there are many other rock climbing areas within
Greece such as Meteora, Patra and on the islands of Crete
and Rhodes.
