This is a selective guidebook that covers the sport climbing in the Sierra de Prades Mountains that rise sharply behind the coastal city of Tarragona to the south of Barcelona in Catalunya. These predominately limestone and conglomerate crags are at an altitude of between 500m and 1000m and provide some of the best sport climbing in Catalunya.  It is possible to find good conditions at any time of the year, though autumn through to spring is a great time here for a rock climbing holiday.

The guidebook describes the following 11 separate rock climbing areas which are, Siurana, Margalef, Montsant, La Riba, Els Cogullons, El Penitent, Mont-ral, La Mussara, Vilanova de Prades, Arbolí, and Masriudoms. In total over 4,800 routes are detailed across a wide range of ranges from F3 to F9a that will suit all levels and styles.

All the routes are shown on high quality colour photo topos, along with route name, length and grade. At the start of each crag there is a comprehensive introduction detailing the aspect and style of the climbing to be found.  Detailed access information and location maps, including GPS co-ordinates for the key parking areas are also given.

Published in September 2023 this Tarragona Climbs guidebook is written by two local activists Pete O'Donovan and Dani Andrada.  This is the 3rd edition of the guidebook that has been completely updated and includes more than 1,000 routes than the previous 2nd edition.  The guidebook is written in Catalan, Spanish and English text throughout.
