This is a comprehensive guidebook describing the bouldering in the Peak District, covering well over 3,000 boulder problems.  All the main bouldering areas are included across a wide range of grades with many low-grade problems included.  Also included are 60 circuits with 17 of these graded at V0+ 5a and under, and a further 21 circuits with problems at V2 5c and below.

The guidebook is split into 9 areas, which are as follows:

  1. Northern Peak area: Wimberry, Hobson Moor Quarry, New Mills Tor, Howshaw and Back Tor, and Derwent Edges.
  2. Sheffield area: Wharncliffe, Rivelin,  Wyming Brook, and Bell Hagg.
  3. Stanage area: Bamford, and Stanage.
  4. Burbage Valley: Higgar Tor, Burbage West, Burbage North, Burbage South Edge, Burbage South Valley, Owler Tor and Mother Cap, Secret Garden, and Millstone
  5. Derwent Gritstone: Padley/Yarncliffe, Froggatt, Curbar Edge and Field, Baslow, Gardoms, and Birchen.
  6. Central Limestone: Conies Dale, Stoney, Deep Dale (Badger Cove), Blackwell Dale, Raven Tor, Rubicon, Taddington Dale, Alport Area, and Harborough Rocks.
  7. Central Grit: Harland Edge, Robin Hood's Stride, Cratcliffe, Clifftop Boulder, Stanton Moor, Stanton-in-the-Woods, and Rowtor Rocks.
  8. Matlock Area: Matlock Quarries, The P, Cocking Tor, Turningstone Edge, Bradley Edge, Black Rocks, and Shining Cliff.
  9. Staffordshire: The Roaches, The Skyline, Five Clouds, Ramshaw, Newstones and Baldstones, Gib Torr, and Wolf Edge.


Published in August 2023 all the problems are shown on colour photo topos, along with a brief description, and boulder maps.  There are an additional 10 areas that are only available via the Rockfax app.  The guidebook uses both ‘V’ grades and Font grades, along with UK technical grades for easier problems.
