This is the definitive guidebook covering the Langdale valley, along with the neighbouring valleys of Great Langdale and Easedale. Langdale is at the heart of Lakeland rock climbing offering immensely varied climbing. A large proportion of the crags in Langdale face south with both roadside and high mountain crags to choose from. This makes Langdale one of the few areas in the Lakes where it is possible to climb for most of the year.

The guidebook covers the major crags of Gimmer, Pavey Ark, White Ghyll and Bowfell Buttress, Black Crag plus lots of others. In total the guidebook details over 850 routes with a good spread of grades from VDiff to E3. Each crag has a clear location map with all the routes shown on colour photo topos. A clear table at the start of the guidebook details all the crags, along aspect (orientation), altitude, approach time, drying time, route lengths and the spread of grades.

Published and completely revised in September 2013 by the Fell and Rock Climbing Club (FRCC), and is in English text throughout. Interspersed throughout the guidebook is a superb collection of action photographs.
