This guidebook describes the rock climbing around Lake Malaren near Stockholm in mid-east Sweden. The guidebook describes hundreds of both bolted and trad routes of all grades, all within around an hour and a half’s drive from Stockholm.

The guidebook covers 19 main crags, plus more 20 other smaller crags, from Uppsala in the north to the well-known Tunaberg region in the south. Simonsberget is by far the largest crag that is covered in this guidebook, and is regarded as one of the best crags in Sweden. Other larger crags covered are Bistaberget and Aland. The climbing ethic in this region is that routes that can be protected with nuts and cams are left as trad routes, whilst only those routes that cannot are bolted as sport routes. Hence both trad and sport routes are found at most of the crags.

All the routes are shown on clear colour topos. For each crag these is an approach map, access information, plus a description of the aspect and character of the climbing. Symbols indicate the style of climbing, approach time from the car, maximum height, and orientation.

Published in January 2019 this guidebook is in Swedish and English text throughout. The guidebook is packed with general information for the visiting climber and lots of good action photographs.
