Barcelona Y Alrededores, Volume 1 Sport Climbing Guidebook

This is a comprehensive sport climbing guidebook describing the extensive climbing to be had along the coast, and inland, to the west of Barcelona. The crags are mostly single pitch and surround the towns of Castelloeffels, Vilanova Y La Geltru, Vilafranca Del Penedes, Martorell, and Igualada.

The guidebook describes 47 different crags and over 2,400 routes between F3 and F8a+. Some of the larger crags are Turo de Cal Beco, Gelida, and Pla de Manlleu. All the routes are shown on clear colour topo diagrams along with route length.

At the start of each crag there are clear approach maps and access information. At the start of the guidebook there is a comprehensive summary for each crag that shows, number of routes, grade spread, maximum route length, aspect, approach time, suitability for children, and where appropriate bird ban dates (this only effects a small number of crags). All this information is shown using clear symbols.

Published by Supercrack in January 2018, and is in Spanish text throughout, but a large amount of information is conveyed by symbols. The guidebook is in full colour with plenty of good action shots, and is the first in a two volume set of guidebooks describing the climbing around the city of Barcelona.
