The climbing is concentrated along the river Ariege that flows from Andorra through the towns of Tarascon-sur-Ariege and Foix where the climbing is concentrated around, including the popular Alliat, Auzat, Calames, and Sinsat crags. The majority of the routes are single pitch, though some long multi-pitch sport routes are also included particularly at Sinsat (250m long) and at the huge granite slabs at Dent d'Orlu (up to 1,000m long).

In total 25 different crags are detailed, which are as follows: Arabaux, Abeilles, Carol, Roquefixade, Lavelanet, Roche Ronde, Roc à Steph, Calamès, Roc de Sédour, Bédeilhac Quarry, Dévers de Sédour, Sabart, Alliat, Génat, Le Saut de l'Ours, Arbiech, Sibada, Baychon, Auzat, Goulier, Pic Rouge de Belcaire, Les Toulousains, Sinsat, Verdun, Appy, Ax les Thermes, and Dent d'Orlu.
