Getting
to Paklenica
The
airport at Zadar (approximately 50Km from Paklenica) is only
a small regional one, and no major airlines have direct flights
there. However:
- SkyEurope
do fly direct to Zadar from their base in Bratislava in
Slovakia. From there they have flights to all major European
countries such as UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland,
Denmark, Poland and Greece.
- Book
a charter flight to Split. With Split being a major holiday
resort there are many flights to here from all over Europe.
The major operator in the UK is Holiday
Options.
- Ryanair
fly daily to Zadar from Stanstead in the UK.
Easyjet
also fly into Rijeka from both Luton and Bristol in the
UK. This would then be approximately a 4-hour drive to the
rock climbing in Paklenica.

Accommodation
for Rock Climbers in Paklenica
The
type of accommodation required will depend upon your group size,
budget and preferred location of either Starigrad (1Km from Paklenica)
or Zadar (46Km from Paklenica).
- Camping
– Always the cheapest choice and there are many campsites
in Starigrad, which are open all year round.
- Villa
- Always the most pleasant and luxurious option. If you are in
a large group (6+) and are traveling outside the main holiday
season (June to August) then hiring a villa can be surprisingly
cheap. Villa’s are available in Starigrad, with a greater
choice available in Zadar.
- Apartments
– These suit slightly smaller teams or couples. Again these
are available in Starigrad, with a greater choice in Zadar. To
view apartments selected by Climb Europe, that are suitable for
rock climbers, click here.
- BB
& Hotels – Starigrad offers several BB and small hotels
that are usually associated with restaurants. All the larger hotels
are in Zadar.
