  • Verdon in France – sport routes in a stunning gorge with some routes requiring a long committing abseil approach.
  • Cala Gonone, Supramonte, and Baunei in Sardinia – sport routes up to 390m long.
  • Meteora in Greece – sport climbing on conglomerate rock, however many routes require a high level of commitment due to the spaced bolts.
  • Wadi Rum in Jordan – adventure trad climbing in a remote area with routes up to 450m long.
  • Tsaranoro in Madagascar – adventure trad climbing in a very isolated place, where the commitment level of the routes requires infallible self-reliance.
  • Zion and Red Rocks in the United States – trad routes that are easily accessible.

Each route is shown on a colour photo topos and there is additional information regarding the amount and type of gear required for each route, along with descent information. The routes covered in this guidebook range from F6a to F6c for sport routes and F5c to F6b for trad routes.

For each of the 7 locations there is extensive information on the style of climbing to be found in each country, what fixed gear generally exists, and a suggestion of what gear to bring for the trip.
