56-April-Muzzerone-Guidebook-FacebookMuzzerone is one of the best places for sea cliff climbing in the Mediterranean. This position by the sea, and the unspoilt nature in which the crags are found, make this a great place for a climbing holiday. The climbing is on excellent limestone rock with edges and pockets that is characterised by pillars of limestone rock dropping down to the sea.

The sea cliffs of Muzzerone are made up of 20 separate limestone crags and there are routes for everyone from F4+ to F8b, with the majority of the routes in the F5a to F7c range. There is a wide range of climbing styles to be found here from single pitches on slabs, to overhangs and alpine style multi pitch routes, all within a unique and wild environment.  Recently, long multi-pitch routes have been developed starting from just above the sea.  These are around 200m long, well bolted, with many of them in the mid-grade range.

A new compressive Muzzerone rock climbing guidebook has just been published that covers over 400 routes at Muzzerone. The guidebook includes many stunning action photographs, plus some fantastic aerial photographs that show the different sectors of Muzzerone in all its glory. It also covers 8 other crags between Sestri Levante and La Spezia in the Liguria region of Italy, making a total of over 600 routes. Published in March 2017 this guidebook is in English text throughout, with all the routes shown on clear topo diagrams.
