El Chorro Rock Climbing Guidebook

El Chorro Rock Climbing Guidebook

El Chorro is one of the best known climbing destinations in Europe, with its classic gorge and a host of crags in and around the village.  Add in a number of other crags within a short drive of El Chorro, this place is an excellent climbing destination, particularly from October through to the end of April.

During this time, El Chorro is a great low cost climbing destination with many cheap flights to Malaga from all over Europe, along with plenty of budget accommodation options.  Plus there is a new El Chorro climbing guidebook available that has just been published by Rockfax.

The style of climbing is very varied at El Chorro with quality routes across a wide range of grades, of which the vast majority are well bolted.  There are multi-pitch routes in the gorge, along with slabs, steep walls and overhanging tufas on crags surrounding the village, all on brilliant limestone rock.

The new El Chorro rock climbing guidebook details over 800 routes at El Chorro, plus a further 700 routes at other crags within a short drive of El Chorro such as Desplomilandia.  All the routes are shown on colour photo topos along with a short description.  It has been fully revised and is now nearly double the size of the previous edition that was published in 2008. The guidebook also covers all the new access information on getting into the gorge, either by using the refurbished Caminito del Ray walkway or via an alternative walk.

Buy the new El Chorro rock climbing guidebook for £32.95 plus P&P.
