Fontainebleau can simply be described as the best bouldering area in Europe, a truly world class venue. Known lovingly as either Font or Bleau it attracts climbers of all abilities from around the world.
The new 7 + 8 Fontainebleau guidebook has just been fully revised and re-printed. It now includes 3,748 straight up problems, which is over 1,000 problems more than the previous 2013 edition. All the problems described in the guidebook are graded between Font 7a and 8c, in over 100 different areas across Fontainebleau. This guidebook was published in October 2016, and is written in English text throughout.
All the problems are shown on detailed colour boulder maps/topos. A table alongside this map gives the problem number, its name and grade, along with additional comments if appropriate (such as sit start or high side pull). The guidebook follows the bouldering circuits concept where appropriate, and highlights problems where multiple pads and spotters are desirable.
