This is a definitive guidebook describing the rock climbing at Shuteye Ridge in California's western Sierra Mountains. This guidebook describes all the routes on this eight-mile-long mountain ridge in one volume, many for the first time. The style of rock climbing is on heavily featured granite faces, favouring routes that use a mixture of bolts and traditional gear. There is everything from easy low angled multi-pitch routes, to widely overhanging jug hauls. Also included are all the major bouldering areas.
Shuteye ridge runs roughly north to south and is surrounded by access roads to the ridge. At the beginning of each crag, there are detailed access descriptions along with satellite photos and aerial photos. In total over 800 routes are described across a wide range of grades and variety of styles. All the routes are shown on colour photo-topos, along with in-depth route descriptions and what gear is required.
Published by Wolverine Publishing in September 2013, this guidebook is in English text throughout and includes many stunning action photographs.
