The Joshua Tree Rock Climbs is a selective guidebook that describes of the best rock climbing routes and boulder problems in Joshua Tree National Park, including some of the best bouldering circuits. This guidebook covers the entire Joshua Tree Park in a single volume, with 3,000 routes and boulder problems described across 28 separate crags.
Joshua Tree is one of America's most popular climbing destinations with its sea of granite domes and boulders that roll gently across this high-desert plateau. Though some sport routes are covered, the guidebook mainly covers traditional routes, mixed routes (where some fixed protection is found) and bouldering. There is a great variety of easy and moderate traditional routes that sometimes can be bold.
All the routes are shown on colour photo-topos with detailed descriptions that include what (if any) fixed protection is available, such as pegs or bolts. GPS coordinates are provided for most of the crags and parking locations, a very useful feature for such a large and at times complicated park. There are many great colour action photographs, as well as being packed with all the information anyone could need regarding the park and its regulations.
