This guidebook describes the quieter and less frequented bouldering areas of Fontainebleau that will enable you to escape from the crowds or visit somewhere new. This guidebook is ideal for those climbers who have visited Fontainebleau before and are looking different locations that are not covered in other guidebooks. These “Top Secret” locations are often hidden away in the forest, hence why this guidebook provides extra access maps to find them. The majority of these areas are in dense shady trees, making it ideal for hot summer days, but also open to the sun during colder winter months.
In total this guidebook covers 60 different locations from Chamarande in the northwest, to Troglodyte in the south. All these locations are within an hour’s drive from Milly-la-Foret or Fontainebleau. The guidebook covers over 130 circuits, including 10 kid’s circuits, and describes over 9,000 problems. All of these problems are shown on colour photo topos plus numerous boulder maps.
Published in March 2016 this guidebook is in French and English text throughout. The guidebook provides an exception level of detail from access maps, problem styles, and boulder heights to crash pad and spotter ratings. This is volume 2 of the Font Bloc series with volume 1 being Fontainebleau Fun Bloc.
