Canon Tajo rock climbing photograph - Pan Am, Mexico

Alex Honnold freeing the crux pitch of Pan Am route (5.12+) at the Canon Tajo

The photograph shows Alex Honnold freeing the crux pitch of Pan Am route (5.12+) at the Canon Tajo in the Baja California Norte area of Mexico.

Canon Tajo is in a remote and isolated region of Mexico. Getting there is really complex and a challenge itself. The climbing is excellent though with around 300 routes on granite rock, from single pitch to big wall multi-pitch routes up to 500m long. There are fully bolted slabby routes, mixed climbing and traditional climbing with plenty of cracks.
